Every registered tradesperson on MyTradesShop receives a dedicated public business profile. A well-crafted, complete profile builds trust with homeowners, demonstrates professionalism, and significantly increases your chances of winning quotes after purchasing job leads.

Key Profile Sections & How to Customize Them

You can edit your profile elements at any time through your account dashboard. Here is a breakdown of each core section:

1. Profile Picture or Company Logo

Homeowners want to see who they are working with. Upload a clean, professional headshot or high-resolution business logo. Note: Profile image uploads are currently best managed on desktop/laptop web browsers.

Important: Do not upload images containing phone numbers, web links, or direct contact information; these will be automatically flagged and removed.

2. Business Description

Your summary is the main pitch homeowners read. Keep it clear and engaging while highlighting your experience, key trade specialties, guarantees offered, and what sets your company apart from competitors.

3. Working Hours

Set your availability so clients know when you can respond to calls or schedule site visits. This is particularly valuable for emergency repair specialists. You can update your operating hours anytime by clicking the editing tool (hammer/spanner icon) on your profile layout.

4. Key Business Credentials

Provide essential details such as your company formation date, business structure (e.g., Sole Trader, Limited Company), and team size. Transparent credentials reinforce credibility.

5. Trade Qualifications & Certificates

Upload official trade certificates and accreditations (e.g., Gas Safe, NICEIC, NVQs) to showcase your expertise. All uploaded qualifications undergo manual review by our team before displaying publicly. You will receive an automated email confirmation once verified.

6. Active Trades & Services Offered

Add or remove trade categories directly from your profile settings in the same way you manage skills in your primary dashboard.

Understanding Profile Policy Warnings

If you receive an automated profile content warning via email, there is no need to worry. Warnings occur when content breaches our community standards or terms of service, such as:

  • Including direct phone numbers, email addresses, or external links in public text fields.
  • Using inappropriate or offensive language.
  • Making unsubstantiated or misleading promotional claims.
  • Uploading low-quality or inappropriate profile photos.

Simply edit the flagged field to remove the non-compliant details to clear the notification.
